Round the Corner Dutch Zebra EP
Tracklisting:
1. Gulag Arpeggio
2. Anti-Glacier Song
3. The Elusive Ryan Davey
Sleevenotes:
Following hot on the heels of our last single (released when dinosaurs roamed
the earth), welcome to the insert to Round The Corner Dutch Zebra, a multi-media
pop extravaganza. As is our wont, we would like to give you a guided tour
of the songs contained herein. We begin with Gulag Arpeggio. It has often
been said that there are more recorded versions of Paul McCartney's Yesterday
than any other song. We contest this - there are, in fact, over 6,000 recordings
of this track. They are all by us, though and the rest are pencilled in
for possible release as a box set later this year.
Moving swiftly onwards, Anti-Glacier Song is something of a sister track
to Gulag Arpeggio. It is our first foray into the exciting world of rock
guitar soloing. Unfortunately the rest of the band were rather surprised
by this, and fell out of the tree they were recording in.
The final song, The Elusive RyanDavey, was written in honour of a boy
we met outside a nightclub in Hull, and who has avoided us ever since.
It was our original intention that Dolly Parton should sing this song
but she was, sadly, unavailable.
Tracks 1 & 3 were recorded in Seamus Wong studios, Leicester, by
Paul Wong.
Track 1 was mixed by John Meredith.
Track 2 was recorded in a tree by The Chemistry Experiment.
